Hackney Carnival – 2018 – Main

Hackney Carnival this year was another Epic day, we collaborated with Jamboulay Mas Band. The group met at Hagerstown Park to dress, eat and practice our routines. The parade started late, but all the participants got involved and performed all the way through.

At the judging point the group performed the themed set piece, which was well recieved. Everyone who participated with us really enjoyed the Carnival day and we even had one of the dancers from Colvestone Primary who performed with us for Hackney Kids carnival.

The Dimension’s performing group were given second place for our judging point piece, which excited the team and gave them a boost for future performances.

Thanks to everyone who made the day special. For more information or to join future projects please contact us.

Hackney Kids Carnival – 2018

This year Hackney Council started a new Kids Carnival. Dimensions worked with Colvestone Primary over 4 weeks to prepare a dance piece for the Carnival day.

Dimensions worked with the Year 4 class, who were very excited for the opportunity to learn something new and also perform for their school, parents and public. The class worked worked hard to put together ‘themed’ Cabaret’ dance pieces.

On the day the Year 4 group was supported by Dimension’s very own dance troop. Both groups worked together to put on a great performance for the public.

The classes hard graft was rewarded, as they were awarded ‘Best Dance’ and were over-welmed at the trophy presentation.

Thanks to everyone involved that made the day a success.

Nottinghill Carnival 2016

For this year Dimensions London’s theme was ‘ Dimensions of Power’ which looked the meaning of power and what we envision when we think of power.
The children’s day was good with all the children making the most of the day, we even had some of the dancers from the Fun and Funky dance school in Romford. The day went without a hitch and the dancers performed at the judging point which was great and had a positive feedback.
The adults day was also a success with our adults performing the routines they had learnt over the previous weeks and looking spectatular in their costumes.
Thanks to all the team who put the costumes together and support for dance workshops.

Nottinghill Carnival 2014

Nottinghill Carnival 2015

On Sunday the weather was pretty good, with only a sprinkling of rain during the day. The Dimensions Group wore T-shirts as tradition to celebrate Mas and take in the atmosphere. Everyone enjoyed themselves and performed some of the routines we had been learning throughout the year. At judging point we performed a track, getting around the route at a perfect time in order for the team to get some rest for Monday.

Monday we arrived at Freston Road to see rain. We all changed into our costumes and braved the weather to celebrate our successful year of dance and culture. Unfortunately it continued to rain for the whole day, but we all danced, kept as warm as we could and performed during the routed and at judging point. The Carnival was great this year and thanks to Cocoyea Mas Band for hosting us this year.
